Project Description
As part of a project to train employees in new technology it was decided to understand what employees required, what were their concerns and tailor the training materials to address these requirements. As part of this I was asked to develop a persona template that was simple and easy to use and could be used to interview employees. The intention was to develop personas, user stories and qualitative and quantitive data that could influence the design of training materials
Powerpoint Template
Since the Persona Template would need modification (sometimes on the fly) and had to be in a format all employees would understand I chose Microsoft Powerpoint. For ease of use each characteristic was expressed on a sliding scale. The result was a very simple to use template with text field for descriptions and sliders for defining profile characteristics.

Results
Very positively received not only by interviewers but employees being interviewed (many completed their own representative persona before the interview). The results of the personas were discussed and shared throughout the team and user stories highlighting specific needs created which in turn influenced the training materials developed. The Powerpoint Persona Template has since been adapted by other departments for their own project requirements gathering.
