Project Description
This was a very large project to define and document the Sharepoint Style Guidelines for a large multinational company. As well as traditional style guidelines content more educational materials had to be included because development often occurred offsite by employees not familiar with company, governance, branding and best practices for usability. The resulting document was very large and was delivered as a fully searchable Intranet Site from which static PDF documents could be created for external digital agencies (who don’t have access to the Intranet).
Special Attention to Findability
It was clear from interviewing target users that the Style Guidelines would be more a reference resources and not read from start to end. For this reason special emphasis on findabity was but-into the Style Guidelines Site. This included: Keyword Search, FAQs, Gloassry of Terms, A-Z, Dos & Don’ts, Target Audience Guides, How-to-use guide, etc.
